The two books under review advance the post-truth debate considerably. Whereas Linda M. G. Zerilli emphasises the political side of the relationship between truth and politics in A Democratic Theory of Truth (2025) and shows how “post-truth” diagnoses paint a misleading picture of truth, Michael P. Lynch concentrates on the epistemic side in On Truth in Politics: Why Democracy Demands It (2025) and offers an alternative account of (political) truth.
